2009 Concert Season

Artistic Director &
Principal Conductor:
Robert Chasey

Leader: Helen Brackley Jones

open quote Dear Friends,

A very warm welcome to a tremendously exciting year. The Orchestra's concert at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester will be a huge event and not to be missed; tell your friends, tell your families; let's fill this fantastic hall!!

2009's music is very wide ranging and challenging but full of great enjoyment with a few surprises along the way: from classical Dvorak to the romantic violin concerto of Menotti and the daring but ever so beautiful 2nd Symphony by Ives. Enjoy the thrilling music of Walton and Bliss with the welcome return of Peter Donohoe and join us for a journey down memory lane with a Festival of British Light Music; all the old favourites will be there. Finally, come and enjoy our first ever Christmas concert where we again will be working with the Bolton Hospice to raise money for this much valued local charity. close quote
