Management
The Orchestra is managed by a Board of Trustees which meets on
a regular basis throughout each financial year to review financial,
management and artistic issues. Minutes of each meeting are taken
and distributed to Board members with specific actions assigned
where appropriate. An Annual General Meeting is held in accordance
with the BSO Constitution and members of the organisation are notified
prior to this meeting based on the requirements set out in the constitution.
The Annual Review of the Trustees is presented at the AGM for approval
following an independent review by our appointed auditor.

Memoranda of Understanding
In order to ensure the continued development and success of the
Orchestra, it is essential that the roles within the organisation
are clearly defined and understood by the parties concerned. In
particular this is crucial to an organisation such as BSO, which
is dependent on certain key roles being fulfilled on an agreed basis
and in return for which payment is made. It is to the benefit not
only of BSO but also the holders of these roles that a clear understanding
of their role is held by all, not only its specific duties, but
also the expectations on both sides.

Board of Trustees have produced a 5 year Arts Action plan which
runs from 2005 to 2009. This document is reviewed on a regular basis
as part of the Board of Trustees meetings.
